Advisory group
People who know the work, keeping us honest.
We are forming an advisory group of people from the communities Moraph for Good serves, to look at how we decide, what we publish and whether we keep our promises.
Being formed. Nobody has been appointed yet, so no members are listed. Members will be named here once appointed, with their agreement.
What it would do
Advice from outside, on the record.
Moraph for Good gives away what Moraph sells. People who do not work for Moraph are best placed to tell us when that is going wrong.
How we decide
Read the eligibility criteria and how applications are decided, and tell us where they shut out organizations that need help, or let in work we should not take on.
The record
Read the annual report before it is published and say what is missing, unclear or too kind to us. Look at anonymous summaries of declined applications and appeals.
Our promises
Hold us to the rules we publish: applications kept away from sales, data kept no longer than we say, safeguarding taken seriously. Raise concerns with us directly.
What would help
Tell us which guides and tools Commons should publish next, and which problems keep coming up in organizations like theirs.
What it would not do
Advice, not decisions
- Decide individual applications or appeals. Those stay with the Moraph for Good team, under the published policy.
- See applicants’ personal details. Anything the group reads about applications is anonymous.
- Act for Moraph commercially. Members are not asked to buy, sell or recommend anything.
Who we are looking for
Experience of the work
- People who run, or have run, a nonprofit, community lender, clinic, library, legal aid office or small public body
- People who have used the kinds of services those organizations provide, and know what it is like from the other side of the desk
- People who work on security, privacy or technology for organizations like these
- People from the countries where Moraph has an office: United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, United Kingdom, Armenia, India, Philippines, Australia and New Zealand
The time asked of members, how often the group meets, any expenses and how its advice is used will be set out in writing before anyone is appointed, and published here.
Nominations
Suggest someone, or yourself.
- Tell us who, and why they would be good at this.
- The Moraph for Good team reads every nomination. Sales teams never see them.
- If we would like to talk, we get in touch. We will not contact someone you nominate unless they have agreed to be put forward.
Nominations are used only to form the group, under the Moraph privacy policy. Prefer email? Write to hello@moraph.org with “Advisory group” in the subject.
Received
Thank you. We’ll read it.
