Everyday money
Worksheet · moraph.org/commons/sessions/fluent/everyday-money
Use this sheet in the session for the made-up household, or at home for your own month. Nobody will ask you to share your answers, and it goes home with you.
1 Money coming in
Write each kind of income, the date it usually arrives, and what it is in a usual month and in a lower month.
| What comes in | Date it arrives | Usual amount | Lower month |
|---|---|---|---|
2 Bills that can’t move
List each bill in date order and which payday will cover it.
| Bill | Due date | Amount | Paid from which payday |
|---|---|---|---|
3 Costs that don’t come every month
Write the yearly cost of each one, then divide by 12 to see what to set aside each month.
| Cost | Amount a year | Each month (divide by 12) |
|---|---|---|
4 My first steps
Tick the ones you will try.
- Write every payday and bill date for next month on a calendar
- Pick a first emergency fund target: the cost of one common surprise
- Set up a small automatic transfer on payday to a separate account or pot
- Call one company to ask about moving a due date or a hardship plan
- Look up the free help listed for my country on the handout
