Last reviewed

What it means. The day a person last reviewed the page: re-opened every source on it, updated the text and recorded the date in the review queue. It is the date the page itself shows as “Last reviewed”.

What it doesn’t. It is not a promise that nothing has changed since. If an official source says something different, the official source is right.

Last changed

What it means. The day the page’s main content, title or description last changed in a build of the site. Changes to the shared header and footer do not count.

What it doesn’t. A change is not a review. Fixing a typo moves this date; a person re-reading the page does not.

Sources

What it means. How many external links the page’s Sources section had at the last link check. A page with no Sources section is counted by the external links in its main text. Each link is counted once per page.

What it doesn’t. It counts links, not facts, and says nothing about how well a source supports what the page says.

Link check

What it means. Every cited source is requested automatically, and the result is saved in the repository. Opened means the address answered normally. Opened at a new address means it answered after sending us somewhere else, which is our prompt to re-open it, because guidance is sometimes moved or withdrawn. Not checkable means the site blocks automated requests, so the check does not try it; people open it by hand when the page is reviewed. Broken means the address gave an error or no answer at that check.

What it doesn’t. “Checked” means the link opened, not that a person re-read it or that it still says what the page says. The link check is started by a person, not by each build, so its date is often earlier than the build date.

Countries

What it means. The countries with their own block and handout in each session kit, and with a free-help directory for each topic, read from the kits’ data files.

What it doesn’t. It does not mean the rules are the same in each country, or that every country has the same services.

Not measured here

This page does not measure whether pages are accurate, easy to read, accessible or fast, or how many people use them: the site keeps no build-time data on those. How the site is tested for accessibility is in the accessibility statement.
